Liberal MSM Does It Again
Liberal columnist Eugene Robinson of the liberal Washington Post could have saved all of us a lot of time by condensing his latest column into these few words:
Right-wingers really ARE responsible, whether directly or indirectly, for the killing of the guard at the Holocaust Museum.
So then, Mr. Robinson, who's to blame for the shooting of Private William Long 2 weeks ago? Keith Olbermann? Rick Sanchez? Chris Matthews? Mike Wallace?
Give me a break. And to think this guy writes for our nation's capital's largest newspaper.

It's not about expectations, George. It's about calling people in influential positions out for saying things like this.
These and so many others we know are fellow travelers, whether they want to admit it or not. I expect nothing less than the stupidity you read in the post from these folks. I'm surprised when they turn on their masters and berate them for not being red enough. That's a hoot!
I'm missing the link here.
There have been a number of instances of right-wing extremists taking violent action and killing people based upon their extreme rightist ideological beliefs.
A converted Muslim tragically murders a U.S. soldier supposedly because of the way the military has treated Muslims and this is supposed to be like the right-wing extremist's murders? Was the Muslim a Democrat? Did he despise Republicans or did his political ideology push him over the edge? Was there anything to indicate that he was listening to these newsmen that you mention?
I don't get it.

The murderers' broad political ideologies are irrelevant. They are demented and twisted human beings. For Eugene Robinson (or anyone else) to try to link the museum guard murder to right-wingers is as absurd as linking Private Long's murder to left-wing anti-war people.
Well, I do think that when someone goes and shoots up a church of universal Christians and says that he did so because he hates liberals, political ideologies are relevant. When someone kills three police officers and says that he was afraid that authorities were going to take away his guns away like conservatives have been warning about, political ideologies matter. And when a guy frequents a far right forum and says that Obama's birth certificate is not genuine and is an avowed white supremacist, and then he goes into a Holocaust museum to shoot up the place, political ideologies, are, in fact, relevant.
If the converted Muslim claimed that he hated Republicans and the military machine they represent, you can betcha a million dollars that his political ideology would be relevant, especially to Republicans.
But he didn't.
And I simply don't see the connection that you attempt to draw in the post.

Good catch. The gap between a George Will and someone like Eugene Robinson [or Ruth Marcus or, the king of uninteresting conventional-wisdom pablum, David Gergen] is Grand Canyon-ish.
Let's think about this; Robinson actually wrote a column where he partially ascribed the actions of an 88-year old racist [as in book-published] male, with a history of violence and Holocaust-denying views, to the words of the Republican National Committee's recently appointed African-American Chairman.
How does that happen? I think it happens because when you are African-American columnist and an
African-American guard gets shot at the Holocaust Museum by a white supremacist, you are supposed to say something. When a writer is under pressure and lacks talent or standards, they produce columns like the one by Mr Robinson.
Speaking as a conservative, I hope Me Robinson writes and provides commentary for a very long time. We are going to need all the help we can get.
