Tea Parties

The Sun-Sentinel has coverage of the Tea Party held in Fort Lauderdale today. The Miami Herald has a story on tea parties across the country, but nothing on the local ones (way to go Herald!).

Meanwhile, some of our local southpaw (ideologically-speaking) bloggers are marking the occasion by making fun of the whole thing, namely here and here.

That's OK, my left-of-center fellow bloggers. Go right ahead and ridicule ordinary Americans who are expressing a legitimate concern in a civilized, respectful and lawful manner. Unfortunately, it says a lot more about your tolerance and respect for diverse points of view than it does about the merits of the tea parties themselves.

I understand they don't agree, hence we are the opposition. But from there to make fun of them, coming from the party of Tolerance and Diversity and Inclusiveness, well that just is downright ironic.

You should check out the Youtube video of the hideously biased CNN reporter lecturing the protesters she interviewed at one of the tea parties. The left side of the blogosphere has nothing on her sneering attitude towards conservatives. Her name is Susan Roesgen, by the say.

Yes, thanks for noting that, Bobby. Not advocating that type of name-calling on either side, although I wonder if you ever spoke out against the numerous Bush/Hitler comparisons many on your side of the fence loved to throw out. If you did, good for you.
